3 unmissable experiences around Aix-en-Provence in spring

Before the crowds of July, spring in Provence offers a brief and perfect window. Early lavender, flower markets, wine estates awakening — here are three experiences we arrange exclusively for our clients.

May and June are Provence's best-kept secret months. Temperatures are mild, nature is in full bloom, and the iconic sites have not yet succumbed to the summer influx. This is the season we recommend to clients seeking authenticity without the constraints of high season.

1. Sunrise on the Sainte-Victoire with a naturalist guide

Cézanne painted it at every hour of the day. In spring, the morning light on the white limestone of the massif has a particular clarity, and the garrigue is fragrant. We organise private outings with a local naturalist guide — departing at dawn, returning for breakfast in a mas. An experience that cannot be booked online.

2. A private wine tasting in a vineyard cellar

The estates of the Pays d'Aix produce some of Provence's finest rosés. In spring, the vines are budding and the winemakers are available — before the summer rush. We arrange private visits to estates not open to the general public: tastings in the cellar, meetings with the cellar master, food and wine pairings on site.

3. The Sainte-Victoire producers' market on a Thursday morning

Not the Cours Mirabeau market — too touristy in season. We are speaking of the small village markets on the outskirts of Aix, where local producers sell their new-season olive oil directly, their fresh goat's cheeses and their first gariguette strawberries. A genuinely Provençal moment, twenty minutes from the city.

We compose bespoke stays around these experiences. Tell us your dates and preferences.
